Kenny Rogers, America’s eighty-year-old country music star, is one of the best-selling artists of all time. While he’s famous for bigtime hits like ‘The Gambler, ‘Lady’, and ‘Islands in the Stream’, he is also unfortunately famous as a celebrity plastic surgery disaster.
What Went Wrong With Kenny’s Cosmetic Surgery?
Kenny Rogers has undergone numerous cosmetic surgical procedures over the years. In 2006, he spoke publicly about his dissatisfaction with his cosmetic eye surgery results when it became obvious to the world that something went awry. Whether Kenny’s cosmetic surgery goals were unrealistic, or his plastic surgeon lacked expertise and skill, we don’t know. We do know that Kenny Rogers’ surgery didn’t give him the results he was looking for.
Kenny Rogers Before and After
If you look at pictures of younger Kenny Rogers, you’ll notice that his eyes were very masculine, with low eyebrows and little space between the upper eyelid and eyebrow. His unfortunate facial plastic surgery fail reveals high eyebrows, excessive space between the upper eyelids and eyebrows, and a hollow space above his eyes. The results? An alien-like Kenny Rogers that looks stretched out and surprised!
What happened?
Simply put, Kenny’s plastic surgeon raised his brows to an unnatural height and removed too much skin from around his eyes. The surgeon also lifted the corners of his eyes too high, eliminating the natural look and appeal of his masculine eyes. Kenny and his plastic surgeon must not have been on the same page about the goals and desired results of his surgery, and this is extremely important.
How to Prevent Botched Plastic Surgery
Male facial plastic surgery has his its own nuances and requires specific techniques. Male eyebrows dip lower and arch less than female eyebrows. Because of the lower brow position, the space between the upper eyelid and eyebrow is more “crowded.” A skilled facial plastic surgeon, like Dr. Menachof in Denver, Colorado, is familiar with these differences and therefore treats each male facial plastic surgery patient with special care and finesse.
It takes a lot of skill and practiced technique to combine multiple eye procedures (such as a brow lift and eyelid surgery) because one cosmetic surgery affects the other. With a procedure like Kenny Rogers’, Dr. Menachof would have taken a more subtle approach, taking the time to understand the cause and extent of his excess eye skin.
In the case of this procedure, Dr. Menachof also most likely would have performed a slighter, more nuanced brow lift, raising the brow to its proper position with a natural lateral angle. This cosmetic procedure alone could have resolved the excess skin around Kenny’s eyes and eliminated the need for blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, altogether. Regardless of the surgical procedure(s), Dr. Menachof would have maintained the natural, masculine appearance of Kenny’s eyes, including the slight downward angle and “crowded” brows. These features would have preserved his masculine appearance, leaving him looking refreshed but not “deer-in-the-headlights” surprised.
Dr. Menachof is proud to provide his patients with natural-appearing results. His goal, with every facial cosmetic patient, is to uphold or enhance the original structures of your face so that you look youthful, but not distorted in any way.
Choosing a plastic surgeon for your facial cosmetic procedure is a huge decision – one you’ll live with for the rest of your life. Take the time to research your cosmetic surgeon by asking questions and looking at before and after photos of the specific cosmetic procedure you’re considering. Remember that facial plastic surgery results should look natural. A skilled, experienced plastic surgeon should be able to give you these results.
